Education

Mission & Vision:

  • To provide learning opportunities for teammates in GSM at all levels around the globe.

  • Strengthening inclusive leadership* through comprehensive D&I education

Objectives:

  • Educate and Develop Leaders to Build Diverse & Inclusive Teams.

  • Grow Awareness & Activism in Areas of Social Justice and Racial Inequality.

Key Initiatives:

  • Cross-Cultural Education Series:

    • Segment 1: Race in the U.S.

  • Unconscious Bias Awareness.

  • Communicate when center lead tools and resources are available for leaders and employees.

Current Project(s):

  • Continue to rollout the Cross-Cultural Education series covering Indonesia and India, in addition to previous China and Vietnam sessions. Partnering with 3rd party Cartus, covering topics such as history, cultural influences, and general communication strategies for working with each country. Working to find local Nike teammates from each country for sitting in on sessions and providing their perspective on team discussions.

  • With the completion of the Cross-Cultural Education courses, we will be redirecting our focus to drive engagement around the DEI Fundamentals courses on Nike U. Currently, we are working together with the Representation Pillar on increasing participation of GSC teammates in these training courses.

Development

Mission & Vision:

  • Empowering and enabling all GSC employees to realize their career aspirations.

  • Promote diverse, equitable and inclusive opportunities for personal and
    professional development.

Objectives:

  • Seek key area/gap for GSC team members on DEI development.

  • Enable GSC people leaders to plan and execute equitable talent development.

  • Create an equitable career development plan/path for the team and align with GSC and Corporate Development plans.

Key Initiatives:

  • Establish Mentorship relationship & Peer coaching (Encourage feedback sharing for development).

  • To bring DEI visibility to GSC team level and create a measurement tool for the process (inclusion Index from engagement survey/).

Representation

Mission & Vision:

  • Amplify DEI Representation efforts in GSC.

  • Expand recruitment, retention, and promotion of URGs throughout GSC. Drive enhanced Representation through transparent and data-driven talent practices & decisions.

  • Be DEI representatives within spaces where we find ourselves, bringing unique insight into the employee experience.

  • Mitigate bias in the hiring process through enhanced awareness.

Objectives:

  • Support increased participation and expand influence for DEI trainings, such as unconscious bias and individual DEI trainings, to assist more professional and career developments.

  • Elevate our Asia based teammates & other facilities have equal access to training opportunities, stretch assignments, professional development, etc.

  • Assist in increasing publicity and GSC colleague involvement in existing opportunities for speaker series events, women of GOT events, United Networks, etc.

Key Initiatives:

  • Define Representation Objectives and Activities for FY23.

  • Drive a cultural shift to enable enhanced Representation though hiring, marketing, awareness, training, research, & education:

    • Improve and expand “Hiring Best Practices” sessions to deepen impact and reach the SC audience based in Asia.

    • Determine how we can augment and amplify the recently released and
      mandated Unconscious Bias Awareness training.

Current Project(s):

  • We are currently working on creating interview resources and development which is a collaboration with the Disability Inclusion team.

  • Create a future segment for the DEI Supply Chain Hub that includes videotaped interviews with select Leadership members.

  • Strategize on ideas to promote the DEI Fundamental Courses on the Supply Chain Hub.

Community

Mission & Vision:

  • We exist to build a community that transcends race, ethnicity, gender, orientation, abilities and culture – a community where everyone can be their most authentic self.

  • Create robust ecosystems of inclusion, belonging, and connectivity between our various communities with equitable access for all.

Objectives:

  • Partner with We Are Victory, to build out a Supply Chain DEI Hub that will serve as a platform for:

    • Engagement, communication, and activations for all GSC DEI Action Team pillars across our org.

    • Collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver a superior product that enhances the goals of the GSC DEI Action Team and the Mission & Vision of the Community pillar.

  • Promote adoption and engagement of the DEI Hub across organization by
    communicating activities and events designed specifically for the GSC team by the GSC DEI Action Team.

  • Promote the DEI Hub in Leadership Highlights and GSC All Hands.

Key Initiatives:

  • GSC DEI Hub Development & Adoption.

  • Driving engagement across Global Supply Chain with events and activities taking place across the Action Team and beyond (Networks / Brands / Facilities).

Current Project(s):

  • Finetune and launch the DEI Supply Chain Hub.

  • Create a plan around maintenance, updates, and schedule for the Hub.

  • Continue to come up with ideas of how to promote engagement with the Hub.
